What Your 4 Days Look Like
Day 0
Meet Your Crew
Your adventure begins at The Growcery Camp, where you'll meet your fellow paddlers, settle into camp, and start getting excited about the journey ahead.
As the sun sets over the rugged Richtersveld landscape, you'll gather around open fires, enjoy a freshly prepared meal, and get to know the friends and adventurers who will share the river with you over the next few days.
With a final briefing from your guides and thousands of stars lighting up the night sky, the reality starts to sink in – school is over, and the adventure has begun.
Day 1
Launch Into Adventure
Wake up to the sounds of nature and a hearty breakfast before heading to the river. After a quick introduction to paddling, it's time to launch onto the mighty Orange River and leave the outside world behind.
The day is filled with crystal-clear water, stunning scenery, swimming stops, and the excitement of your first rapids. As the river winds through the spectacular Richtersveld, you'll begin to understand why this is considered one of South Africa's most unforgettable outdoor adventures.
That evening, you'll camp on the riverbank, watch the sunset paint the mountains gold, and relax around the campfire with your new friends.
Day 2
River Life at Its Best
Today is all about embracing the rhythm of the river. Paddle through breathtaking mountain landscapes, drift along peaceful stretches of water, take refreshing swims, and soak up the freedom that only a river adventure can provide.
Along the way you'll pass remote farms, dramatic desert scenery, and landscapes that most people never get to experience. Away from screens, schedules, and exam stress, you'll discover that the best memories are often made in the simplest moments.
As darkness falls, another incredible night awaits under some of the clearest star-filled skies in Southern Africa.
Day 3
Deep Into The Adventure
By now you've settled into river life and every day feels a little more carefree than the last. Wake up to the sounds of the river, enjoy breakfast with your crew, and set off for another unforgettable day of paddling through the spectacular landscapes of the Orange River Valley.
The scenery continues to change as you drift between towering mountains, open desert plains, and fertile farmlands. There will be plenty of opportunities to swim, relax on the water, challenge yourself on exciting rapids, and soak up the incredible beauty of one of Southern Africa's most unique wilderness areas.
As the sun sets on your final night along the river, you'll gather around the campfire, share stories from the journey, and enjoy the kind of evening that makes you wish the adventure could last forever. With a sky full of stars overhead and the river flowing quietly nearby, this is often the night that guests remember most.
Day 4
The Journey Home
After one final breakfast on the banks of the Orange River, it's time to enjoy the last moments of your adventure together. As you paddle the final stretch of river, you'll have plenty of time to reflect on the incredible journey you've shared with your crew over the past few days.
Your river trail ends at Aussenkehr in Namibia, where transport will be waiting to take you back to The Growcery Camp. The drive back is filled with stories, laughter, and the realization that what started as a group of strangers has become a team of adventurers with memories that will last a lifetime.
By the time you arrive back at camp, you'll have experienced breathtaking landscapes, unforgettable sunsets, countless laughs, and the freedom of life on the river.
You'll head home with amazing photos, new friendships, and stories you'll be telling long after your school days are behind you.
The river may be over, but the memories are just beginning.
