Orange River Kayaking

Orange River Kayaking is one of the best expedition trails on offer in the Richtersveld.

The Kayaking Trail is suitable for paddlers with a minimum level of experience and a sense of an adventure.   Expedition style trip under the guidance of Umkulu Safari & Canoe Trails’ Guides.  The Kayaking Trail will start and end at our Base Camp the Growcery.

This 6 Day Kayaking Trail will take us through the whole stretch of the Richtersveld community and Transfrontier reserves.  We divide our equipment amongst all the paddlers, and this trail will have early morning departures.  We cannot exit once we commit to our expedition challenge.  Kayaking down the Richtersveld will take us to our destination at Sendlingsdrift in the Richtersveld Transfrontier Park.  One of the more adventurous paddles on the Orange River and Rapids will vary from grade 1,2,3,4 depending on the water level.
