This 5 Day Transfrontier Rafting is the perfect outdoor adventure suitable for the more adventurous paddlers. Experience the Richtersveld / Ai-Ais Transfrontier Park on a guided river rafting adventure. This adventure is on the verge of the ultimate desert experience. Rapids grading is from level 1-4 depending on the water standards of the Orange River. Join our experienced rafting team on an unforgettable outdoor river rafting adventure.
Our Experienced River Rafting Team will take you from our base at Ausenkehr Farms in Namibia through the Transfrontier Park. Our destination is Sendlingsdrift. Over the next five days, you can expect to have spectacular mountain views, fast-flowing channels and level 1-4 rapids depending on the water levels.
This part of the Orange River is a pool drop river with fast flowing canals, exciting rapids, goat herders and endless desert space. The Transfrontier is truly a great combination of rafting, adventure, expedition, relaxing, hiking and exploring. The Transfrontier Rafting is not a race. This Trip is rather an outdoor excursion and is suitable for all with no experience.
Our guides will be preparing meals on open fires and guide you safely down the Orange River. This five day Transfrontier trail is suitable for the adventure seekers that want to explore the Richtersveld / Ais Ais Transfrontier Park, on a unique route through the Transfrontier Park.

NB. This Transfrontier Rafting Departure point is The Growcery Camp or at Norotshama Lodge. The Transfrontier will be confirmed when making your reservation. The water levels will decide the starting point.
Time Frame: 5 nights and a half day on the river.
Distance: 100-110 km(depending on the water level).
Tour Starts: 08h30 / 09h00 am on the morning of day two on route plan.
Equipment: 2 man inflatable rafts, paddles, flotation devices, cooler box for drinks and dry bags for personals
Starts: Norotshama or The Growcery Camp – depending on water levels
Ends: Norotshama or The Growcery (Back at Norotshama after a 2- 3hour transit drive from our finishing point at Sendelingsdrift weir).
Minimum Group Size 12 people – secures a departure.

We do suggest a good sense of humour as our complaint office is in the centre of the river.

Norotshama Lodge / Growcery Base Camp
We meet all our river paddlers at The Growcery Camp, no later than 5 pm on day 1. Please notify the camp of any late arrivals. This evening will be an introduction to your river crew and a final briefing on the adventure that awaits us. Our Dinner will be around open fires and a freshly cooked meal can be expected. Our evening is relaxed and a great time can be spent under the many stars of the Richtersveld.
Orange River Rafting – Orange River
Our River adventure starts with a scrumptious breakfast this morning. Our guides will brief all our paddlers on how to pack their two man inflatable rafts for the next 4 days of river rafting. We leave all our vehicles and mobile devices safely at base camp and start our adventure anything from 9:30 – 10: 30 this morning. The next few days will be along the banks of the orange river. We explore the magnificent Richtersveld desert and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
Orange River – Growcery Camp/ Norosthama Lodge
An early wake-up call we enjoy our last breakfast on the banks of the orange river, before making our way to our collection point. All depends on the water levels on how long we will paddle before the take out. Please don’t make any fixed arrangements to depart earlier than 2 pm from our base camp. Our Take out times will vary from 08: 30 am – 12: 30 pm, this all depends on the water levels.
